Do I Have To Break In My New Electric Rc Motor?

It is a Mabuchi RS-540 motor for my Tamiya Rising Storm RC car. On website it said to keep wheels off the ground and run 1/4 the power for 5 minutes.

Then I guess you should follow the directions. Why would you ask instead of following the directions for it?

You should. You will get loger run times and better performance.
